Recorded message began to play on my cell phone when I picked up the call, claiming to be from AARP UnitedHealthcare, with which I have supplemental medicare coverage. Asked if I was "Xxx" (first name), to which I cautiously answered "Yes." Asked if I would be willing to take a survey, to which I again cautiously said, "Yes." (Something I almost NEVER do). The questions were strictly health related (physical, mental, emotional, social & hearing related). The only ID information requested was the initial confirmation concerning my first name. All other questions were typical health related questions not requiring any ID information. At the end I was given the option of staying on the line to join a UnitedHealthcare wellness program, which I declined for personal and security reasons, suspecting that ID information might be requested at that point. End of recorded dialogue. No suspicion of fowl play. If I had been asked for any ID information besides my first name, I would have ended the call, and only gave that out because I had reason to believe that is was a legitimate AARP UnitedHealthcare call based on recent mailings from from AARP United and a recent conversation with an AARP United representative via their listed 800 contact number.

SECURITY NOTE: The 206-637-8511 number is not a listed AARP United number to the best of my knowledge, but the area code is clearly one used in my state (Washington) and likely used by AARP United only for the purpose of administering this particular survey. My advice to anyone who reads this report is to NEVER give out personal information to the individual or organization who initiated the call unless you recognize the name and voice of the person calling. In this case a simple return call to AARP UnitedHealthcare via a publicly listed number, requesting how to sign up for a wellness program offered by them, would be the safe and secure method of accepting their offer.

Received an automated call about 30 min ago purporting to be from AARP and United Health Care.  They wanted to ask some health related questions and asked if I had time to answer. When I stated no because I was suspicious, they wanted only push numbers, 3 was no, and they hung up.  All robo, no voice.  I called * 69  since my caller ID wasn't working (power outage recently) and got this 206-637-8511 number.  I called AARP 's 800 number from my UHC card, and was told they didn't recognize it, but recommended I "google" it to see (I'm NO techie and had never done that, but WILL now).  206 is the Seattle/Key Peninsula area code, so I thought it might have been legit.  Thank you for this service.

CID says THE HENSON COMP. I don't know who the F they are and I don't F'ing care. I put this number on call block months ago, so all I get is the one ring. At one time, someone who claimed to be United Healthcare used this number, but even though they are my health insurance company, I don't want to hear from them because they were pushing that I use their "mail in pharmacy." If they want to correspond, put a stamp on it and mail it.
