Recorded message stating that there was a tax fraud case against me and to call back immediately to prevent me from being arrested. Since I didn't recognize the calling number I didn't answer the call and let it go to voice mail. My Caller ID shows the caller is Acording Northwest.
My wife and I had fun with this one. Told him I was going to end my life because I just can't have my family see me go to jail. By surprise all of my debt was all of sudden forgotten about. Also, told them I was going to turn myself in. What really got me was they wouldn't let me pay anything. What are they after?
They called saying I owed money. I called them out on their [***] several times but he insisted. Being the 18 year old I am I thought I it was real for a moment. But honestly the accent Was a sure sign. And the background noise. He kept saying he'd transfer me to the officer in charge of the case but wouldn't let me talk to him until I told him how much I have in my bank account. They just kept asking how much I had in my bank account. Which honestly I feel like if the irs was actually after you they would probably know, and tell you your name rather than ask for it. That and have a conversation about the details in person not over the phone. You know? Then he said my name... He had "searched up a warrant" for a misspelled name because he couldn't understand me. That was my official "this call is [***]" kind of feeling.
