I answered a call from someone unknown who gave me an id # an told me to call the above # for a grant due me.and would like to know who this is and if information given is correct for i can't call long distance myself to find out. but if they would like to call me directly they can. thank you

TOTAL SCAM. There is no grant. They will want upfront payment in the form of a Green dot money pak which is untraceable. You will wind up with no grant money and you will be out the upfront fee. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY FINANCIAL OR OTHER INFORMATION. Do not return their calls. Block their calls.
Rule: If you receive a cold call from someone with an Indian accent who 1. offers you something or 2. threatens you, you know it's 100% certain that its a scam and you should hang up immediately and block the call.
Thanks for sharing this. I got a phone call this morning and the lady spoke in a Spanish accent. She said you have won $7000 and you need to call 206-701-6634 immediately to claim your money and also gave me a confirmation number. These guys are nothing more than scam artists.
The primary way for the government to reach you is through regular mail (USPS). The government never asks for sensitive information over the phone.
they called me and told me i was selected to receive a grant for 8,830 from the government and then to call this number back and give them my code and pick it up at walmart or moneygram and pay them 250.00
i hung the phone up . this is really sad people are trying to take advantage of people like this. it needs to stop. and one if the government has rewarded you money you should not have to send them no 250.00
