I received a call from 206-777-8049 late morning today. Since It is from an area code of no one I know, I didn't answer it. A few minute later, a voice mail appeared. Obviously, it was fake, claiming it was a government agency, warning me that I owed $$$, and should contact this individual. I have since gotten 6 emails from local/county police warning about these scam calls.
Got the same call threatening legal action. As convincing as it may sound, the script used refers to a "magistrate." Problem is--for them--is magistrate is not a word in common use in the US.

Same BS stories as above. Got a call threatening me about back taxes and agents would be storming my door if I did not call back within 24 hours and pay the money I owe the IRS. I do not owe the IRS anything and yes the man had a slight accent but called himself David Gray and also mentioned the word magistrate in his message. I sent an email to my local county prosecutor's office asking them to forward my complaint to the appropriate agency investigating this tax scam nonsense. I feel sorry for the people who "buy" their story and lose money.
I received the same type of call as the other posters her. I had to listen twice as it is cut off in the beginning. I dispise this sort of thing. I hope they will be shut down.
