Who called from 2068015201

They said they were from IRS.  That already was a tip-off it's a scam because in English we'd put the word "the" before "IRS".

Then it was a computer generated voice, not a person.  These are getting better and better, btw.

At any rate, I'd like to know how the scam works, because it seems pretty crude right now.

Well, they call you up and say they are IRS and all sorts of terrible things will happen to you shortly.  However, if you send them some money by untraceable means, they can make the whole thing go away.

It's an absurd scam, but a lot of people in the US and Canada fall for it.

Women are particularly vulnerable for some reason.

Automated call claiming to be the IRS and they are going to sue me

I have been getting messages from the number 206-801-5201, saying they I am being sued and I must call this number and they just repeated it.

Female voice identifying herself as "the IRS" stating that they were filing a lawsuit against me and to call 206-801-5201 for more information.  Googled the number first !
