I. Called said they were with the IRS told them I couldn't hear them she hung up i called the number back and a guy answered I is not the IRS they want all your info it's a scam
Received 2 calls saying they were the IRS and I was in trouble for false reports on my tax returns. I knew it was a scam. I called them back to see what it was about, pretending that I thought it was real, and they said I owed $5000+. I asked if I was the only person on these taxes and they said yes. That's when I laughed at the woman on the phone and told her, "I'm married you dumbass. I'm going to contact the real IRS and report you." She quickly hung up. The woman had an Indian accent. They called me from 206-823-3095 and a recorded message told me to call 206-823-3093. I called the first number. It rang about 20 times before she picked up. There were no prompts and there was no waiting. I called the real IRS first to see what their prompts and other things were like first. I also googled the numbers first to see if it was a scam. I also pretended to be someone else first and when the names didn't match she didn't say I'm sorry it's for someone else, she told me who the call was intended for. That's not something the government would do. There are such things as privacy issues. These scammers are really dumb. I am sorry that I used profane word above, but I'm just trying to tell you what was said. The caller had said more than what was listed above, but as to not drone on, I just put the gist of what was said.
