Received a call at 7:30 am from this CELL# claiming to be the Internal Revenue Service stating that they are filing a suit against me.
DO NOT RESPOND as this is a scammer!!
I let this go to voicemail and the message is from known scammers. It's in a robo voice claiming to be from "internal revenue services" note the s. And how "is filing lawsuit against you". They called me from 206 823 3168, both are non D.C. numbers, search for the second number if you want to know more.
I received a robo-call from 206-823-3356 claiming to be from the "Internal Revenue Service" advising it was "filling a lawsuit against you" and to call back this same phone number. When I called back the phone with mediately by an individual identifying the wolves as John Morris with the IRS. I ask for verification and proof since the phone number for robo-calls should not have gone directly to someone's direct line. He offered his "base ID number" of IR M657 claimed he was from the "investigations department of the IRS" he proceeded to tell me there had been an audit of my taxes that I was in default and owed $7500. He said it again if they had already filed a lawsuit against me for failure to respond to previous letters (no such letters ever received and he stated he could not provide copies of any such letter, he did give dates the letters were supposedly sent and a "IRS case number CR302751" When I asked how they were sent, he replied "oh..they were not sent by US mail, they were hand-delivered by a local IRS agent" I told him that I had been home all day on the two dates in question and there had been no such delivery. He then said no one was home so yellow sticky notes were left on the door" ( no such delivery or notes were ever left)
The individual then proceeded to say that I would either need to show up in DC court with a criminal attorney to defend myself or he could arrange for me to pay him the $7500 now over the phone. At that point I advised him that I have a relative that works for the IRS and distant not seem like normal protocol that I intended to contact the local IRS office and go down to see them specifically about this issue. At that point he hung up on me
I just received this voice mail.
IT IS A SCAM. I'm now contacting the Police.
The CELL phone number is blocked.
The IRS, or any government agency, does NOT contact you by phone!!!

Got a half a voicemail and called back. "John" told me I owed the IRS money and I told him nice try and hung up. I reported the number to the IRS so they can look into it.
