Yes .got the same irs call. I called local police about warrent. I have called the number back numerous times and there is no ring or no answer. [***]!
The woman told me she was from the IRS Criminal Investigations Department. Telling me that i was under investigation and have a warrant, if i didnt pay $3000 today they will turn it over to the local sheriff. By the end of the conversation i wad told that they would be here in 45-60minutes to arrest me. Im thinking it is a scam but we shall see.
Lady claiming she was from the criminal investigation unit of the IRS, stated there is a notice issued on my name and there are previous allegations pressed against my name by the criminal investigation unit of the IRS.
Yes this is a scam! Think about it. Your tax return doesn't include an area for a phone number. Also, there is a process. First you are audited and then fines levied IF you have reported misinformation. Why would the IRS call you on your phone? Notifications are by mail people. Totally bogus and an obvious scam! don't fall for it please!!! I got the call and couldn't stifle the laughter. I asked him "seriously who are you really?" and he hung up. I've called the number back several times and now I guess I'm on their "don't answer" list!!!
The IRS does not need to sue anyone. They send you first class letters delivered by the Post Office. Several of them. Ignore those, and they then send certified letters that you need to sign for. Again delivered by the Post Office. Ignore those and they simply freeze your bank accounts and anything else you own. If they can do that, then why would they bother with a court case that might take them years before they get in front of a judge? They also do not bother arresting people for a few thousand dollars for the same reasons I have already given.
