This man with a foreign sounding accent left a message claiming to be from the IRS. He speaks in monotone and left the following voicemail for me:
"Hello this call is from IRS, that is Internal Revenue Service. The very second you receive this message I need you or your regional attorney off record to return the call. The issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. This is officer Adamscoff and my number is 206-866-0170. Again it's 206-866-0170. Now don't try to disregard this message and do return the call. If you do not return the call or if I don't hear from your attorney either, the only thing I can do is wish you good luck as the situation unfolds on you. Thank you and goodbye."
The number is located in Seattle Washington. Anyone have a similar situation? I feel like the IRS would not wish me good luck.
Yes, I got the call from same number left voice message and that idiot mentioned the name is James Morgan. I called back and he/she picks up and don't speak anything and listen after few seconds hangs-up. THIS PERSON SURE IS FAKE AND SCAM! SO DO NOT WORRY AND KEEP YOUR IDENTITY SAFE. DON'T SHARE ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION! THESE ARE RETARDED PEOPLE.
I got the same exact message last evening- could not catch the caller's name- but yes it definitely sounds like a scam! IRS would send a letter and not an unprofessional sounding phone message! Very annoying though. Glad to see this is a known issue !! IRS normally has toll free numbers.
This is a scam. The caller is indian origin. My caller ID shows the call came from Kathryn Gurko.
Tell the guy to go F himself.
IRS do not call. They send letters.
