I called the number again for more information. They want you to send a one time fee that goes to the charity of your choice. They they send you a certificate that you file with your taxes and that is how you qualify for the grant. I also checked the "Federal Grants Department" out on Snopes and verifed this is a scam. They even went into the detail of how the people that you speak with are of another nationality so they speak with an accent. I will be reporting this in any way I can.
I did receive this call too and mentioned that $7000 will be granted as Federal Grant to me. They asked me what I will do with this money. I mentioned- I am not sure now because I just heard that I got $7000 from Federal Govt. I was told that I can not use it for Gambling or Casino. When I asked `how I get this money?' they mentioned that I should go to a Western Union with $499.69 and call the number again when their Layers will advise me how to get the $7000.
I was certain that it was a SCAM so I asked why I need to pay $499 to get this, why do not you send me the rest and keep $500. The lady said that she is going to cancel this offer for me.
I just received a call from them. Before I send anyone cash they would have to show me identification face to face!. This has SCAM written all over it..
Received a call saying I needed to call back regarding a criminal case filed against me. Case CH72695, no identifing themselves just that time is of the essence and if I do not call them back they wish me Good Luck! Got a call 3 days earlier, same exact robotic voice but an entirely different number
Got the same exact call twice in one day. I called them back and told them to remove my number that I am getting harassment calls from them... they hung up the phone on me....
