They are scammers and need to be investigated and put behind bars for making people who know no better to cry....and to think that their are no honest lenders any more.
This is a scammer, calling from a blocked # (phone bank - sounds like a bunch of Nigerians or Indians), calling to # 206-923-9289.
Got a call from an unnamed person who had my name, address, phone #, etc.
Told me that the federal government has a special grant program for people who pay their taxes on time.
The money could not be used for "illegal purposes such as drinking, gambling" (didn't know these activities are illegal?!).
But to get the money, I would need to call Francis Floyd - Senior Manager, call back # 206-923-9289, and give my Grant approval number.
I called her and she said they would send me $6,700 but first I would need to wire through Western Union $200.
I asked the name of the company, she said VSI, and then I asked for the physical location, to which she said "we have seven offices with the HQ in NJ." I asked for the exact location and she hung up.
My wife and I knew this was a scam from the first call; when they gave me this phone number, I googled it and immediate saw other search hits showing "Scam." I called back for entertainment purposes, with my wife next to me, mostly to see what their scam is and how stupid some people can be.
