THE NATURE AND PURPOSE OF THIS CALL IS TO INFORM YOU THAT IRS IS FILING A LAWSUIT AGAINST YOU. CALL IMMEDIATELY ON OUR DEPARTMENT NUMBER, 206-973-7887. I REPEAT, 206-973-7887. THANK YOU. I know this is a scam. It is beyond cruel. I do not answer these calls. But, two of my family members have already been terrified by them. One is very elderly. The other had good reason to believe it really was the IRS calling, since her relative is a criminal. Like I said, these people are beyond cruel. They are the criminals. Please, don't ever answer these calls and block them if you can. Beyond that, I'm not sure what we can do except educate everyone we know and care about that has a phone. Thanks for listening.
I received a partially cut-off message on my answering machine. I couldn't quite make out the remainder of the message, as certain words were unintelligible, but it is obviously a scam of some sort.
Robocall telling me the IRS had been trying to contact me and this was my last chance as the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. Hahahaha it's sad that apparently people still fall for this stuff. Bottom line is the IRS does not do business by robocall or threatening to file lawsuits via telephone. My advice is to hang up and block the call. No matter what do not give them money or information. The real IRS has some great info on these scams available on their .gov website.
