My social security number was used by someone else to file a tax return. The message from this number said the IRS was filing charges against me - which we know they are not as we have done everything the IRS has requested in order to resolve the theft of my number. The investigation can take up to a year. This is an attempt to freak people out so they will hand over cash. Scum bags
