I believe a small fraction of what they gather does actually go to the charity they front. A very small fraction. I haven't been able to pin them down on what that fraction is. I'm sure not giving them any money.

Another one of those “Feel-Good” law-enforcement charities, but only the smallest legal fraction of what they take in actually goes to the kids, cops, firefighters, Etc. they claim to represent. These clowns make a mockery of the term “Non-Profit Organization”. The really sad part is that they siphon needed funds away from the honest charities.
I don't give to charities I haven't thoroughly checked out first - which is why I wasn't willing to just commit to whatever amount was just asked of me. The lady who called had a really excellent script, putting on just the right amount of pressure when I started to resist saying "You see we were only trying to protect the children in [my neighborhood]".
