I've been getting text messages from this number asking me to call or visit their website: http://www.homelandfcu.com. They say "This is a message from your Homeland Federal Credit Union. Your card is deactivated, to reactivate call 207-433-5346"
I've never heard of this site and have never had an account at any credit union. Nothing has shown up via my credit monitoring service either, so I doubt someone has stolen my identity--if they did, wouldn't they want to use another phone number other than mine anyway?
The Federal Credit Union is based in New Orleans (where I'm from). Their website says "PHISING ALERT" [yes, that's a typo] "We are aware of a phising scam in which local financial institutions have been targeted. Please be assured that no non-public data has been breached. Fraud alerts have been initiated. Remember, never give anyone your personal account or PIN information. Homeland FCU will never ask you for this information."
