The reverse phone number on another web site showed the name "Debbie" located on Main Siding Rd., Caribou, Maine. It is a land line phone. Incidentally, the Caribou Maine police department phone number is 207-493-3301 in case anyone wants to contact them.
I found an email address for the police chief in Caribou, Maine: Mike Gahagan, [email protected]. I have emailed him requesting that he investigate this caller.
Received this in reply to my email to the Chief of Police in Caribou, Maine.
"Thank you for contacting me about this matter. Unfortunately for the past month or so someone has been using Caribou, Maine telephone numbers to make numerous calls all over the United States. This is being done by a tactic called "spoofing", where the caller uses a computer program to mask their phone number and replaces it with a fake number, such as the phone number you are getting the calls from. None of these phone calls are actually originating from Caribou. Fairpoint Communications Security, the landline telephone provider for Maine, has been made aware of the situation and have received numerous complaints from other victims. They do have an ongoing list of numbers being used and are looking into the matter.
Please feel free to contact me again if you have any further question.
