This number has called multiple times this week asking to talk to the owner about updates to our website. I said we didn't need any updates as we had our own tech. She proceeded with asking me I was the owner, I told her and we did not need her services. She said she'd call back and I told her not to call back as we did not need her services. She continued with, I will call back later and then hung on me as I tried to state, AGAIN, that we did not need her services.
They called this morning trying to get me to do some kind of web browser upgrade. Soliciters, unwanted and now reported. ALL solicitors to our number will be reported to the FCC, FTC, Attorney General and NDNC.
Got several calls from this # recently at our business. Said she was calling from 1and1 to help build our website (looked them up later and at least they are an actual company). Directed me to open my browser and wanted to show me a demo through desktop sharing. Didn't trust that, plus she was rude so I declined and asked not to call again.
This is a scam message. They say they are from 1and1.com and they are not. I use their service and I checked with them and it is not their number. What they are trying to do is get you to open a browser and show you a "connection" service to where they can get onto your computer. Once they are on your computer they download a file which starts to delete files off your computer. They then say if you pay them "$250.00", they will restore your files. Do not let them get on to your computer no matter what. They also will say they are from Microsoft and tell you that your computer has reported a virus to them. They say they want to take it off and then start the whole thing with deleting files and such.
