I was told the company is Brunson and Associates about a payday loan i never recieved. The individual yelled at me and threatened jail time. I had spoken with them previously and asked them to send me court papers with a date in the mail. Never recieved them
Received call from 207-710-0717 this morning and I have not a clue who was calling, what they wanted, or to whom they were hoping to reach.
And being the nice person that I am, I probably would have *tried* to listen and not be rude about it but I was unfortunately unable to understand a SINGLE word this caller was attempting to convey.
That being said, I have a little 'heads up' to those who either make these obscure phone calls or those whom hire such callers.
Please... use clear, articulate and understandable ENGLISH. Speak slowly. Clearly. And communicate like a human being.
Who are these people, they say they have a supeona out for me and they will come to my job, home etc. I had a call like this a while back and nothing never happened. They said its linked with fraud. I am not a fraudelent person at all nor do I understand why they are calling. They called my job. I need my job. Will someone please tell me what to do. Thank you
I recieved the same call at work and on my cell. telling me I owe money and they have a sapina and bla, bla, bla. I had a similar issue last year through e-mail harassment and when I asked for more details and info they get angry and and make more threats. these people truly suck.
There is no fraud - except for these scammers. There is no warrant for your arrest. These scammers deliberately harass people and scare them into paying for debts that they don't owe. No one gives a heads up that you're going to be served court papers. The court process server just shows up and hands the papers to you. They will NOT come to your job or work - if they did you could call the local police department to come pick the scammers up for harassment and intimidation. Print out this page and show it to your HR dept or manager - make sure they understand you are the victim of harassment by scammers. This is NOT YOUR FAULT.
Report the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General. You may want to also call your local police dept - they get calls about this all the time - they should be able to put your mind at ease. Also, read about the FDCPA and learn your rights as a consumer - it is illegal to threaten people with arrest, charges, lawsuits, etc in order to collect on a debt (even if the debt is valid).
