A guy with an Indian accent calling on a bad VOIP line wanted me to give him access to my computer so he could "repair problems that an anti-virus can't fix and improve performance." Yeah right!
I wasn't doing anything at the time so I tried to keep him on the phone for as long as I could. I wasted 10 minutes of his time. If they call again, I'm going for 15 minutes.
I just received a call from a male with broken English. Sounded like an Indian accent. There was a lot of back ground noise. He said there were virus' on my computer. I interupted him and let him know I wasn't interested. I knew it was a scam.
I just had a call from this number. He tried to tell me that my computer was sending error messages to Microsoft that can cause my computer to lose data. He wanted to know details such as if I am the computer's primary user, have I heard of these messages, etc... I refused to be too forthcoming with information because it sounded pretty shady. I kept asking him what the purpose of the call was, and when he heard this he repeated his opening speech and informed me it was not a sales call. I told him it sure sounded like one and that he had 30 seconds to either get to the point of the call or go away. He immediately hung up the phone - no great surprise there!
a Indian guy called and wanted to fix my computer he said it was ten times more powerful than a regular virus I said it was not my computer he said he would call back tomorrow
