The 208 area code is definitely Nampa, Idaho which apparently has five of
the top collection agencies in the country. I found one company in particular, Collection Bureau, Inc. with a customer phone line of 208-463-4600. So that company is probably the source. The extra phone lines are the phones they would reserve to call the victims of their fishing expedition. These guys are most probably among those group of collection scum bags who try to activate dead debts of all kinds with people who don't know better. DON'T DO IT! Find out your rights. Dead bills are dead bills and they can do NOTHING.
this person post himself as Agent Johnson. Harassed me at work. I reported ( online phone harassment Idaho Police Department) this guy wouldn't stop calling me at work and saying " I'll keep bothering you at work untill you give me my money) I asked him for documentation and the name of his company and he refused to provide it. anyways this is the number ( 208) 955-7231
while a debt collector has the rights to call you, they do not have the right to call you and be outragous about it. and you can request that they no longer call you at work. Threaten legal action..and if they dont stop..take it!
I have been getting calls from 208-463-4600. The first call came on August 19 and went to Voicemail since I was not in a place to take a call. I decided, rather than calling back and talking to them, I'd wait for the letter that is REQUIRED BY LAW.
It's now September 3, and no letter. I'm not worried about it (it's not like if we had the money we'd NOT pay them, and it's also not like they can take anything--it's hard to garnish up to 25% of disposable income when we have no disposable income).
