Didn't leave a message. I had received a call a few days ago from someone who "wanted to send me $485,000" check, and needed my info. I told him I'd already received the funds, and they were deposited. I thanked him, and of course he was massively confused at that. He eventually said he wanted to send another check...and I told him to donate the funds to a hospital and hung up.
Answered, pressed 1 to get "rates lowered" and "Nicole" ran through a spiel about lowering rates. I asked the name of the company "Account Services" and when I asked for a number to call her back, she said "You're not even approved yet, why would I give you a number." She hung up when I said it was a cell phone and to remove my number from their list. I've done this 3 times now.
Ugh. Not being a person that thinks about scamming people for a living, I too answered this call when it came up on my cell phone. Pressed one, as I don't HAVE a credit card, and was curious as to why they were calling me ("Was I a victim of identity fraud?" I think to myself...). When the lady answered asking if I was responding to the offer to reduce my interest rate on my credit card and I said that I was a little confused as I didn't have one, she promtly hung up on me.
So now I am thinking this was a phishing scam and google the number and find this page. If they're just hanging up on everyone without trying to get information out of people, what is it that they are able to do just by establishing a phone connection with your cell? Can they pirate my line???
(Who even thinks up this stuff? And who are the awful people who work or these places?!?! I need a job too in this economy, but dang, seriously??)
