Guy said his name was Joseph, calling regarding an online survey, said that I had opted to hear about a job opportunity. I don't recall doing this... however, he asked a couple questions (DOB, level of education, military/school status) It was made aware to me by trying to ask a few questions, that this gentleman was automated and it was just recording my answers. Said they wanted to place me with jobs in the area.
I received a call from 208 980 7065 - Career Matching Service
The gentleman said I had completed a survey with Walmart &
that I was interested in employment. He proceeded to ask me
questions: my education, military & when he asked me Date of
Birth I asked if I could call him back & he said No that he would
call me later. I hung up. The call was obviously automated as
there was a delay after each sentence. I believe this to be a SCAM
Got a phone call from that number yesterday. He tried to ask for my info. I told him I did not sign up for any job finding service and hung up. Today somebody texted me from 727 753 9031 saying I won a $1000 gift card from best buy. My son got a text from a completely different number saying the same thing , but he deleted the message, 405 309 9635 texted my husband with the same message. Somebody is busy scamming.
I received the same type of call with the 208 area code. Now that I read these posts, it did sound like and automated call. Mine ended when they asked if I would go back to school at no cost via scholarship and when I said "no" it promptly hung up on me. I guess my advice is that when you do an online application, make sure you check "NO" for receiving additional education. The same person, Joseph, answered a second time, and I asked him if he was a real person or a robot, it hung up. I just hope it isnt a scam....I am reporting this to the FCC as well.
Received a call from this number and when I answered there was no one on the other line - just dead air so I hung up. This number has called me a few times before but I never answered assuming it was a scam and after reading these posts I was right!
