This is an update to my post...they called back abd I answered. She said she was calling from student loan forgiveness. She knew nothing about ny student loan but wanted all my personal info, SSN address and so forth to "see if I qualify".
Yeah, that one is easy. You figure out who they are and where they are located. You go out and hire a lawyer, who then draws up a complaint, files it with the court, and has them served.
Callers are most likely located overseas. As such they are beyond the reach of US law. Call blocker can help. Also, it'd help if you didn't pick up on call numbers you don't recognize. Not rocket science.
I ALWAYS let my Caller ID take the call, so I KNOW what # is calling me. If it is unidentifiable/unknown/etc. I check it out on these reverse call websites.
