Yes, I got a call from this number saying he was with the police and reminding everyone to buckle up and then telling me some sap story and trying to raise money for something I didn't even catch. He mentioned decal and scholarships and he had a thick NY accent. He said he would mail something but tried to get me to commit over the phone to donating something. I said I cannot commit at this time. He knew my name and my husbands name, never gave me his. Creepy.
I just received a call from these folks. A man knew my name, my new address, was very familiar and very fast talking. He gave me the same line as "J" said above. I
said I didn't want anyone coming to my house, but I would donate $25. He said he needed me to talk to someone else to confirm info & thanked me. A lady got on the phone asked me my name and then asked if she could add $2 to it. I then asked how much goes directly to the charity . . . she said 10%, but gave me a number to call - she also said it is not tax deductible - red light for me! She then asked if she could still count on my pledge - I said I would have to think about it and asked for the phone # again - he tone changed and you could tell she wasn't very happy! I then knew something was really wrong! DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!!!!
