Got this message on my machine as well. About 7pm. Call from Angela. Said miscalculation on taxes from 2008-2012. Our local news actually did an alert about a month or so ago on this. So apparently the IRS and all other agencies are aware of it. But obviously nothing is being done about it.
You might want to contact your local news stations to run a story. Unfortunately it is usually elderly people that get caught in these scams so maybe if they see it on the news they can be better informed. Just a thought.
Well I think Sabastain is now going by Shawn- He just called my 92 year old grandmother saying exactly what was said to Sonia- Really can we put a stop to this- He said he sent a letter 9 months ago to inform her about the IRS incorrect calculation. I asked him to provide me a copy of the certifice letter that was sent- He hung up!!!
I received a voice message from the IRS with a call center in India using a California number????? For a second got my heart thumping until I realized that if I were to be audited, I would have gotten a letter with an appointment in my own neck of the country asking me to bring my pertinent paperwork. Besides I followed all of the proper tax codes and filled out all of the proper forms and did pay my fair share of taxes for those years and for every other that I have filed. So, I deleted the message and looked up the number and now I know it was bogus.
Received my call at 11:48Am--caller left the same type of message -- IRS problems, sent us "Mail" that went unanswered, etc. Plan on filing a complaint with FCC as well as contacting the Attorney General.
I receive 2 calls from this number, but is suspicious to me that the IRS use people with Indian accent to said that my 2008-2012 tax are been audited. The IRS since I know, audit 2 previous years, no 4 or 6, and when they do that, they notify you by mail. I use intelius, an iPhone app to track the number, and is from Tracy, CA from a company called Ymax Communications Corporation. Is located in E 11th Street and between Holly Dr and El Portal St. If you receive a call, don't answer. I contact directly the IRS and hopefully somebody can help me to send the police to this place. Is inexcusable that immigrants try to steal the people of this country, that give a lot of blessings!!!
