A person called my number from the 209-217-3608 wanting to talk to me about my computer.
I said you want to talk to me so you can down loan information from my computer, and they hung up.
These people are horrendous..!
If you do answer you'll hear several clicks while the idiot on the other line tries to figure out how to use his phone.
Then the person whose first language is obviously originating from the other side of the planet tries to tell you that your "windows" computer is sending them error codes and they would like to "help" you fix it.
A real tough question for them to answer is "which computer is it, I have more than one of them in my home?"
To which they will put you on hold while they consult their "manager" for a "brief" minute.
Then when you tolerate their stupidity, they'll tell you "all" of your computers are affected and I will have to repeat their "solutions" on each computer one at a time.
I think you can safely hang up on these people as they clearly can't work a phone much less a computer by remote access. Looking them up online reveals almost "no" information so surely a company that is legitimately helping people would have some sort of site right..?
If you're bored and feeling like messing with them, let them tell you what to do, put them on hold for fifteen minutes while you struggle to turn your computer on then tell them you need to get some batteries for your cordless mouse but that it'll only take a minute while you "look" for some batteries, in your basement or in your kid's room, surely they have some old batteries up there "somewhere" right...
Same crap, different day. These computer scamming shitforbrains, foreign-accented [***] have called several times this week, and twice this morning already. In addition to calling from 209-217-3608, they also called from 702-299-6042 less than 20 minutes ago. Since we know that these mush-mouthed [***] (their English is atrocious) are scammers, looking for your credit card info to "fix" your computer, you can either hang up on them or string them along and get them to waste time with them. They really hate it when you tell them that they sound like a terrorist or from their lisp, they sound like a peter puffer. They probably are not on US soil, so are out of reach. I let one talk to the dog the other day, too.
I just received a call from this same number, 209 217 3608. They said that they were calling from Windows and that they received a message that my computer was compromised from unknowingly being on a site where my computer received a virus. They told me to press the "windows key" and the letter R at the same time. I stopped them at this point. They gave me a phone number to call to verify that they were Windows at 214 856 8767 and told me to ask for him, Peter Williams. I called back the 209 # instead and sure enough, a prompt asked me if I wanted to be taken off the marketing call list by pressing the number 1 as prompted. This call was a total scam.
