Yesterday I got a call from 612-351-3173 from a live woman who called herself Mary asking if I wanted financial help. I told her NO and don't ever call me again. She said she would put me on her do not call list and I sarcastically said "ya, that always works!". Well, today I get a call from 209-220-4354 from the SAME woman with the SAME pitch! These numbers do not even originate from the same state. I asked her if she was the same "Mary" who told me yesterday she'd put me on her do not call list. She repeated again that she would put me on that list. I told her I laughed at her for saying that yesterday since her call today proved that was a lie. She hung up on me. 800notes lists over 9 pages of complaints about the 612-351-3173 number so perhaps they've retired that one and have started using this 209 number instead.
Yesterday I got a call from the same 209 number and today I got 2 calls from that same 612 number. One is supposed to be in Minnesota and the other California. Total scam.
Everybody here knows about the app named "Call Control", right?
Briefly, it crowdsources junk call identification - so once somebody reports a junk call (a one-touch operation), everybody else's instance of Call Control knows to block it.
No help for land lines, but I find it useful for my Android Phone and I am pretty sure they have a version of iPhone.
I received a call from both of these numbers today one hour apart. I did not answer either of them and no message was left either time. Both on my cell phone which is a private number. I tried calling both of them back just to see whom they would say they were and both numbers are continuously busy. Glad I didnt answer, but, seeing this post at least Ive learned they are connected in some way.
I just received 3 simultaneous calls from this number 209-220-4354 no one on the line no mesg...called the number back and it gives you an automated mesg to remove your number from their call list...so i did we will see what happens said it takes 24-72 hours to be removed.
