As promised in my last report, I called PG&E to verify whether the calls from (661)748-0240 and (209)233-6612 are valid calls for following up my PG&E inquiries. Fortunately, my earlier fear and concerns DO NOT turn out to be true. These caller numbers are from a contractor from Synergy Companies (http://www.synergycompanies.org/), which works with PG&E on a program to provide FREE weatherization and energy saving education to PG&E customers who qualify. This contractor is NOT from PG&E but from Synergy Companies. He may use his cell and office numbers to call for his convenience to set up appointments. He does work 7 days a week ! This is the reason why the numbers he called from do not match those from PG&E, nor from Synergy Companies ! I have called both PG&E and Synergy Companies to confirm this fact, so the calls are not scams or fakes, but valid and genuine. As a result from my experience, similar scam reports on this page may also be caused by the same misunderstanding as mine. Therefore, I would like to withdraw my previous scam report to 800notes.com and authorize 800notes.com to remove it, if possible, to avoid misleading with misinformation and/or causing untrue and unnecessary worries to future readers. I also would like to sincerely apologize to PG&E, Synergy Companies, and the contractor for my misunderstanding and writing an inaccurate report. They all provide great services in energy saving to the public who need such assistance. Thank you.
We received strange call, no name, also claiming to be PG&E.
I read Ron say they are calling from Synergy, since I live next door to a guy who worked for Solar companies, thanks to a relative who set him up from Synergy...my opinion has lowered; these guys are scum and I have absolutely overheard them talking about embezzling schemes within the companies. Neighbor never worked for more than a year for these places. Don't trust them. Why else it should read "unknown" and don't leave a name except they are shady as f*ck.
My thanks to everyone who takes time to input on these pages.
Received a call from man with heavy accent ? Ethiopian who said he was from PG&E and needed some additional information from me on some papers that I had recently sent them on the CARE program. When I asked if 209 233 6612 was toll free, he told me that it was a Magic Jack # and he was calling from San Jose. He was eating on the phone....another tip-off that he was not a professional PG&E service rep. Called PG&E and the said they keep records of every call with a customer and they had no record of his call with me. The rep took note of the number and the issue and plans to report it. I also gave the rep the 800notes.com address to review the commnets on this scammer.
Received call on June 16, 2015 @ 4:41 pm from person claiming to be from DI Energy associated with PG&E Care program. He had a heavy Indian accent. He wanted to ask some questions on the income documents that I submitted recently on the application for CARE Program. I did submit papers for the Weatherization Program but not CARE within the last 2 weeks.
I received a call from this number in Feb/March 2015 from a man with a thick accent also. ?Indian. He also wanted more information on my application for CARE. PG&E confirmed that no calls were made to me in that time period from PG&E and that they would have given me an 800# to call back.
