I received a call from a woman named Rachel Hicks, who said that two felony bank charges had been filed against me and my driver's license was to be revoked. The odd thing is that I have received no official notice from any other agency such as the court system, law enforcement, or the DMV. The message was pretty scary, and I called this number back only to receive a message system.

I recieved a call last thursday fom Rachel Hicks claiming she is a lead investigator for my county and that she is filing criminal charges against me and coming to my work to have me arrested. She scared me big time got me to set up a $315.00 debit from my bank account on 5/31 which I can't afford. I don't know what to do. Do I contact her back or what? I recieved nothing in writing from her company dont even know if this is a legit company or debt collector.
This is surely a scam. Call your bank immediately (do they have a number available 24/7?) to stop the payment. I would not recommend calling her back. She broke the law when she impersonated law enforcement, and when she threatened arrest. Furthermore, debt is a civil matter, not criminal. Read up on the FDCPA to educate yourself on everything this scammer is doing that's illegal.
