Yesterday 3/18/15, 209-353-2056 phoned and I did not answer. I immediately called the number back and it just rang and rang. With in 2 minutes the number called be back asked for two different names and i said you have the wrong number and hung up. Within another minute the number called my work number, butchering my name saying he was calling about a case against me. I asked who this was and what was he calling about. He said his name was John Nash a process server and I needed to call the company to get the details (not givinig me a company name). He gave a case number and a phone number of 877-309-9221 to call. I told him he could not call my work number again and he told me to take it up with the company that he could call whatever number he wanted. Of course I looked up the 877 number on this site and there are numerous recent documentation about that number. I am not going to waste my time with these scammers. But as my luck would have it 209-353-2056 called me this morning at 7:05am. He immediately said "This is John Nash and you did not call the company yesterday like you said you were going to to take care of your business so I still have this service, you didn't call? I said no. He asked if I was going to call and I said no. He said then is your address . . . . I said you should know. He of course started to get mad! He said that I could expect him at my house shortly and that I needed to have two forms of identification prepared for him. I told him to quit harassing me and hung up. This was at 7:05 and I am now leaving for work at 7:50 and he is still a no show, what a shocker!!!!!
They ID themselves as Statewide Mediation Services. They stated that they were located in New York, but wouldn't give an address. The lady (secretary, I guess) stated that there was in fact a John Nash working there but "he was out in the field". Right! This company or companies like it have a long history of debt scamming by threats of legal action or in some cases pretending to be a member of law enforcement.
