The phone number 209-390-8249 is assigned to TELEPORT COMMUNICATIONS GROUP - SAN FRANCISCO and the actual exchange location is in STOCKTON, CA. (This is from CallWiki) Got a call from "a private investigator" looking for an individual who does not work here. When I asked who her employer was, she hung up on me. This is a typical scam run by bottom-feeding bill collectors. Hang up on them.
"Investigator Madison Blake" called my mother in law this morning stating that she needed me to call her by the end of the day in regard to a case she was trying to clear up. I called her back and was told I had written a bad check to best buy in December 2005. I immediately had suspicions considering I left the state where the check was written a month before that. "Investigator Blake" then told me she could tell I was a good guy and she would 3 way call the mediators which is something they never do. The mediator's name was John Brady. Basically he said I owed 625 dollars or a warrant would be issued for my arrest. After thinking about it for a bit, I decided to research these people and was led here. There is no doubt in my mind that this is a scam. Anyone else encountering these people please notify your Attorney General. These schmucks must be stopped.
I have received two calls from "Investigator Madison." The second one was from (424) 202-5455, which is in Beverly Hills. I picked up the second time and she said she was calling about an incident involving me in a Ford Focus (which I do not drive, and have never driven). I immediately knew it was a scam and hung up. She called back and left a toll-free number for me to call back and a case number to reference. Do not speak to this woman! She wears a whole bunch of hats, but it's the same person. SCAM all the way.
