Called me at 11:51 am EST (8:51 am PST) and was heavy breathing on their end. I asked a few times who it was and no answer. So, I hung up. Yes, I also have a 209 number, but it is over eight years old and only used for personal use. I use another number for business. Any leads would be helpful.
The caller was trying to convince me that my IP address was detected in Australia or Mexico (his first question being if I had recently traveled). I asked a bunch of questions and the caller just answered with meaningless computer/internet terms. He even told me that they had sent an error message to my computer that I'd see when I turned it on. The caller finally conceded and ended the call when I said I'd give my ISP a call to see if there was a problem.
When I asked for a phone number for the company, I was given this number: 800-884-0623 which I associated online with "tbay services" and "supportittech." I believe the caller said he was with Support IT Tech. Their website is shady-looking.
The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!
