I am the ex owner of this number 209-541-1983. My number was hackd by some hacker. I called ATT&T and they told me to change my number. I have disconnected this number months back and got a new number. My phone company did investigation and told me nothing they can do other then cahnging my number.
So what the hacker is doing: He is calling form his number to all you guys and my old number shows up there.

This number keeps calling me and is trying to fax to my cell phone. If it goes into voice mail the call lasts for almost 3 minutes before disconnecting. When I call the number back, it tries to connect to a fax machine.
My toll free number was hit every two hours, to the minute, for two days straight. I finally had the call blocked permanently by my provider. The "demon dialer" theory sounds like the most likely. Just enough air time for someone to get charged. Someone's making money off this. Get the call number blocked by your carrier.
