Some chick called at 11PM asking for "Robert".  I asked "Robert who?" since I know a few Roberts, and maybe the caller was my friend's neice.  She hung up, then wouldn't answer her phone.  Probably just as well, since I imagine this chick was more than likely drunk and looking for the guy she "hooked up" with at some dance club last night.

I probably don't need to post this, but late night crank calls are annoying - regardless of the circumstances behind them.  If she'd been a little more polite, and maybe apologized for disturbing me, I wouldn't be posting this.

BTW, she called my cell phone, which has Caller ID built in, so all I had to do was "Google" her phone number.

The stupid b*tch called my cell phone again around 2 AM, left no message, but it was still enough to set the darn thing off on "missed call" mode.  Since I heard the darn thing beeping because I'd missed a call, I called her back around 3 AM.  When she answered, I told her that she'd called my cell phone twice and I was calling her back because I'd missed the second call.  Silence on the other end, so I asked if she was still there.  Silence, but my phone was still showing the call as being connected.  So I told her that this was not "Robert's" number, and she needed to stop calling me.  I also tod her her that if she doesn't stop calling me, I will report her for harassment.

I would NOT have done this if the stupid b*tch had apologized the first time and then waited until a "decent" hour to try to call her boyfriend back.  As I said before, late night crank calls are annoying, and when you call and hang up on someone, it generally pisses them off.  It only takes a few seconds to say, "Oh sorry, I dialed the wrong number" which is enough for most people.  This chick couldn't bother, and then had to call back at 2 AM - which is why I'm posting her name and number on this site.

She called back this afternoon.  Clearly she has the WRONG number for the boy she's trying to reach, but she keeps harassing me anyway.

I am now reporting her for harassment with my local police department.

I spoke to a sheriff deputy, who took down the information, filed a report, gave me an "event number", and then instructed me to call my cell provider and have them block the harassing number.

I have Verizon.  They were the FIRST call I placed today, and they told me that they couldn't block one number from calling my cell phone and I'd be better off just getting a new cell number.  I explained this to the deputy, and he said that they could, he didn't know why they'd tell me differently (I do - they just didn't want to do it), and for me to call them back and give them the "event number".

So I called Verizon back, explained to them (again) what was going on, told them what I'd been told and what I wanted done, and eventually got someone to block the harassing number.

Bottom line, it really can be done, but with Verizon, it's only good for 60 days.  However, that should be long enough for "Julie" to get the message that she's calling the wrong number.
