"Angela" called from the US Federal Grant Dept, House of Human Services, 200 Independence Ave, SW HHH Bldg, Wash DC from an "Unknown Name - Private Caller" phone number to state that the Federal Govt had chosen my name out of ~15,000 citizens that qualified for a $7000 Grant. I was asked how I would spend the money. My reply: "...to pay bills...". To receive the Grant by cash (Western Union), credit card, or direct deposit, I must call 209-644-2266, state who I was, why I called and give the Confirmation Code: MLxxx. The funds would then be immediately distributed. I called the number twice. I did NOT give them my name. I stated that I received the call, I was calling the 'callback number', said I believed it was a scam. When I said "scam", they disconnected the phone call.
A guy named "Stephen" with a chinese accent call me like 15 mins saying the same thing as what mentioned on the other comment, and I insist to get his number but he cannot give it. He told me to call the 2096442266 to get the 7000. Then he asked my age for confirmation but I refused to give it and tell him I will only provide it if he give me his call back number, he said that his verification officer doesnt allow it. Anyways I hanged-up on him because I know it was a scam.
