Called saying he was from "Windows" and was alerted by "the server" that my computer was being hacked. I asked him what my name was, and he gave me the name of a previous owner of my business phone number. That phone number was on file at Home Depot with the other person's name until I cleared it up recently.
My friend in computer network security told me I was correct in thinking this was a scam and using common sense deal with this con artist. Had I followed the caller's direction he would have had me install remote control software on my PC. I would have essentially helped him hack my computer.

Just another scammer. The name that was associated with the number was chalyn.3m2e and they were talking about "solar." What differentiated this call was that it's usually an Asian/Pakistani voice on the other end but this woman was Spanish.
