Threatening - and Scam! This time said it was "Jack Hoffman" from the IRS - and I was under investigation and should call immediately, blah, blah, blah. Although I have had similar calls (from "David Grey" from a different #) this is the first one I received at my business. The threat usually references something that would absolutely NOT pertain to me. IF you call back I'm sure they will ask for your Social Sec. # to "verify" who you are and then steal your identity. The IRS WILL NEVER CALL YOU - would have you sign for any important correspondence to make sure you received it.
I got a call from this number claiming to be from IRS,it was automated message , they ask me to call back but when I did, he ask for my name and then asked if I was calling for myself or for somebody.I questioned him as to why they were putting my house for sale, he hunged up , I tried to call back several times but it will ring one time and will cut off.
The call said it was the IRS department about my property being under investigation, etc. It was clearly a scam. Where can you report these types of calls?
Same thing. Message saying jack Hoffman from criminal investigations of the IRS. So I called the IRS since I have contacts there and they confirmed this is a major scam. They DO NOT AND WILL NOT EVER CALL YOU TO COLLECT ANYTHING! they will send notices and then send registered mail but NEVER EVER call and threaten. And they do not have,a "criminal investigation" person or department either. Pure scam! BEWARE!
