Came in from outside to hear very dramatic voice on my answering machine tell me that I was being targeted for an IRS fraud complaint and I needed to call ASAP before it went to the IRS! BOGUS!
Number showed up as Angels Camp, CA! Good thing I am NOT a Baseball fan! ;)
I had a client call me at my county job worried because her husband received a call from the IRS stating they will arrest if he didn't pay the back amount owed. No people! The IRS will not call you saying they are going to arrest you. They will send you papers in the mail There has to be a judgment and them the IRS can levy or garnish wages. This is a tactic so scare people to get them to pay money and wire funds! Please do research first and if you still worried contact your local police department to make sure no one is going to arrest you. And contact the IRS. I'm sure they get tons of these calls daily.
We just received a call claiming there was IRS fraud against U.S. and such just like others have commented. We called back and they answered the phone as department of treasury, they asked our name and hung up after we said it. Tried to call back and the line was busy.
