Someone is calling people claiming to be from the US Justice Department and various collection agencies, thretening to have people arrested if you don't pay up TODAY for something you don't owe on. It's not real don't be alarmed by this fraudster. Number apparantly is from Ione, CA. If he harasses you call their police department.
Got a call from these guys saying they were the US Department of Justice and I was being charged with bank fraud, wire fraud, check fraud and a bunch of other crap. They gave me a case number for the California superior court, the name of an Assistant US attorney and the judge. Here's what information they gave me. Clearly its all fake stuff:
Customer affairs and business regulations division of the Dept of Justice (no such division)
Assistant Dirk Nannes (name of first guy I talked to, supposedly)
Federal Prosecutor Jason Dasey (Jason Dasey is a famous Australian sports broadcaster), CA Bar No. 182850 (this bar number is an active bar number but belongs to some other lady who doesn't seem to know anything about this)
California
Case no. 93CRS79448 (not the proper format for federal case numbers)
Filed in Superior court of California, SF CA (DOJ would be holding court in the Federal District Court, NOT California's state courts)
Judge Dexter Frogg (Riiiight, just google Dexter Frogg and you'll see there is a loooong history of this name being used in indian phone call scams)

JUST GOT A CALL FROM THESE PEOPLE AT THIS NUMBER. THE GENTLEMAN'S NAME IS GAVIN JONES. THEY ARE TRYING TO TELL ME THAT I TOOK OUT AN ONLINE PAYDAY LOAN, "WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DO WITHOUT A CHECKING ACCOUNT, WHICH I DONT HAVE. MY BANK SHOWS NO RECORD OF A DEPOSIT INTO MY ACCOUNT FOR THAT AMOUNT DURING THE TIME HE STATED I TOOK IT OUT. HE SAID WE COULD WE COULD ONLY CLEAR THE MATTER UP WITH A DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD. THESE PEOPLE ARE A FRAUD, AND USE SCARE TACTICS TO TRY TO GET YOU TO PAY. IT IS NOW A THURS, SUPPOSEDLY THEY WANT ME TO TRAVEL ACROSS THE COUNTRY IN 3 DAYS TO BE IN COURT ON MONDAY....LOL....

I got a phone call from a guy named Alex Smith, saying that I took out a payday loan online. Which is impossible because my bank shows no record and I have no idea what he's talking about. He told me that I had to show up on Monday to California Superior Court! They gave me no county name for the court or what city. I told them that I wanted everything faxed over to me of what they were charging me with and I got nothing. This is insane, they called me April 28th, and again yesterday. How do we stop this guy?
