Poor english speaking man called several times saying he was from Microsoft and wanted me to turn on my computer and follow his instructions to stop computer errors. He called the first six times and caller ID said out of area. I entered *77 into phone to reject callers who block their caller ID and he called back again from this number 209-813-0001. He told me to right click "My Computer" Icon and click on "Manage." I told him my computer was in the closet and I would write down his instructions. He would again go back to the beginning of his "script" and say "I am calling from Microsoft and your computer has errors." "Do you have computer?" When I was tired of playing I would hang up but he calls back about once an hour. I'm retired and ain't got nuttin to do so I'll play..... but YOU should be leary of calls from this number.

I was curious as to how they got my information since I do not own a Windows operating system.
He avoided that question, so I asked for their information and confirmed that they were calling on behalf of microsoft.
Afterwards, I called Microsoft to which end they informed me that they never call people, nor do they send information about your computer to anyone.
I also, had time to listen to them talk (you can easily tell its a call center), but do not follow any steps that they provide. Its a bad idea.
i have been receiving calls from this # aswell for the past week or so.. the first guy to call me told me his name was shawn... he told me the same story as you guys.. i explained to him that i am an internet tech and that there is no way i am having errors.. he hung up.... the next guy to call me said his name was eddie and was some sort of east indian, barely could understand him and i told him the same thing and he just continued on over and over repeating the same thing... when i asked why he was calling from a 000-000-0000 # then he said oh it is from computer.. i told him that he is full of [***] and that the police (whom i contacted) told me it is a scam... But for them to do anything about it i would have to spend 5$ per shot of using *57 and that it takes multiple times of doing this to be considered harrasment and the police would be the judge if im getting harrassed.. i told them to shove it where the sun dont shine, i think i know when im being harrassed... anyways i hope it stops 1 day or i may just have to fly down to california and beat the [***] out of this guy(s)...lol
