They called me waniting me to go to Wal-Mart and buy a$300 green dot card so they can send me 7,500 fro. A grant from the groverment that I dont have to pay back
It exactly happened to me..and this chick "Ashley" told me to go to walgreens or CVS and get a green dot card..she told me to take with me a state ID and $300 dollars to put it in the card so they can send me $7,500...i knew this was a scam when she told me to call her back when i was outside of walgreens so she could tell me what to do!! Wow she thinks im dumb or what?? Supposedly I got this money from the Government, if it would be true, the gov will never ask u for money!!
I ER WASGOT A CLL FROM THIS FORIGN MAN THE NMBER WAS .OOO 012 1233, I DCIDED TO CALL THIS NUMBER BACK AND A RECORDING TRYED TO SELL A MOBLE NASHTION CELL PHONE. I KNEW I WAS A SCAM BUT I WAS CURIOUS. SO I CALLED THE NUMBER 213 813 0490, THE LADY ANWERED THE PHONE AND TOLD ME TO PUT 300 ON S GRENDOT CARD AND I WOULD RECIEVE 7500. IN THE FIRST PLACE YOU DONT OAY MONEY TO WIN MONEY. SO I ASK HER WHERE SHE WAS CALLING FROM AND SHE TOLD ME WASHINGTON. THR AREA CODE IS FROM CALIFORNIA THEY WERE FORGNERS AND I COUL NOT UNDERSTAND SNY YHUB SHE OR HIN WAS SAYING AND SHE ANSWERED THE PHONE HELLO. I CERTAINLY HOPE THAT NO ONE ELSE FELL FOR THAT' THE IDIOTS SHOULD BE IN JAIL .
I received a phone call from 0000121233 at first. I was curious as to who could be calling from such an odd number so I answered He asked me if it was (my first and last name) on the phone and I replied "yes." The foreign man on the phone proceeded to say that because I payed my taxes and didn't have a criminal record, I was randomly chosen by the federal government to receive a grant of $8,400 that I could use any way that I please and I could receive it one of two ways. Either through my bank acct. or cash in hand or check. This is where I got extremely skeptical. I know better than to give any card information so I said "cash in hand." He confirmed my mailing address and gave me a 5 character i.d. confirmation code then asked me to call another number. It was 209-813-0490 and the lady who answered said "hello? are you calling about a grant? i'm closing the office right now so you can call back tomorrow after 10:00am Eastern time." I hung up after asking her the company name which the grant was coming from and she called it "Federal Government Grants Department." from which I immediately starting proofing the legitimacy of this so called "grant." I don't trust this but at the same time, I gave them no useful information so they can consider this "lucky student" as someone they can't steal from.
