Got a call from this phone number offering to lower my cc interest rates for visa and mastercard. I told the caller that I do not have a master card and he responded by saying that he has a contract with both visa and master card. This has to be a scam since no cc company is going to call you out of the blue and offer to lower your interest rates. You have to call them and ask them to lower your rates.
I tried calling the number back and it just rang repeatedly for a long duration with no answer.
They called me 3 times yesterday on my cellphone (11:30AM, 1:30PM, and 5:40PM). I ignored the first call then answered the second. There was no response on the other end and it hung up several seconds later. They called again at 5:40PM but I ignored it.
They called again today at 12:16PM, and left no message. I got another call an hour ago from the number at 5:00PM. This time I answered, and a woman was asking for someone. I told her, "I don't know who that is, you have the wrong number. You need to stop calling me. Your calls keep waking me up. You need to take me off of your call list." The woman simply said, "Okay. Bye." No apology or anything. My fiance tried calling back but it was busy. Pretty sure these guys are telemarketers. The background sounded like a call center. My cellphone says the number is from Stockton, California. I hope they stop calling, if not I'll have to call my cellphone provider to block their number.
This number is a scam artist. They will tell you that they work with Visa and Mastercard as a consultant and can lower your interest rates or they will tell you they do the card monitoring for visa and mastercard. THIS IS A SCAM. This is called phishing and they try to get your visa/mastercard information. I have been called several times and I told them to stop calling. The second person who called apologized and said she would take me off the call list. If this were a true monitoring service they would call from you CC company. Never EVER give ANY information! Your bank will never ask.
