A man with a heavy accent just called me from that number. Told me he was calling from "your computer's maintenance service." When I told him I don't have a contract and told him good bye, he told me to wait and asked if I had a Microsoft Windows computer at home (?!) but did not ask about version of Windows. When I asked for the name of the company he was calling from, there was a long aaaaah - did not tell company name, I hung up. Wouldn't you know which company you are calling from?
I don't think this is anything legitimate and since Anthem has just advised me that my data was included in the breach, I suspect foul play. Please be careful if they call you.

It is definitely a scam. No tech support company that you do not have a contract with and has installed monitoring software can tell anything about what is going on with your computer. Even Microsoft does not know since error messages sent to Microsoft that you permit are done anonymously. In addition, most people to not even provide contact information to Microsoft when they activate Windows unless they also specifically register to receive information from Microsoft.
