Received a call from this number, caller id says "Nextiva Inc", caller left threatening message, identifying himself as Bob Howard, stating i needed to contact him immediately or my attorney of record needed to contact him immediately, if i did not contact him an affidavit would be filed and it would be considered the waiving of my rights to counsel.
I just received a call from this number. The person identified himself as Bob Howard and that a neighbor of mine listed me as a reference to testify on his behalf on a charge of mishandling rental property. My response was that I didn't know this person. He then stated that they were in the process of issuing a subpoena in my name. The address in question was not my address and I told him what my address was. He mentioned the boy's brother and grandmother by name and I told him that I knew them. He then asked if I could get word to the grandmother. I did and then decided to google the number; that's how I ended up here! I did not call the number back to see if it were a legit number.
I have reported this guy to the State Attorney General's Office in Texas, the FCC and the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau. I have checked the number and am unable to locate any information on this guy or his so called firm. When I spoke with the Attorney General's Office they told me not to return the call and it was a scam. The Attorney General is looking into this.
