Received a call asking for my parents. Told them they weren't here and asked to take a message. They hung up. I called back and got a message stating that number was disconnected.

Same thing here. Had our last name, but when I asked who was calling, they hung up. I called back - beep beep beep. We're sorry. The number you have called has been disconnected or is no longer in service.
