I received that same call on today from Kevin Smith said he's and officer. And i need to make a payment for the amount of 475.00 He said it was in trouble for Theft i was like what the heck. He did verify my last 4 digits and said we can make payment arrangement. If not he will send my information to Dallas and will be pick up from my home or work. And for me to call him back with my payment. He did say he was a federal crimes. He also read some script to me.. And placed me on hold to talk to his supervisor to see if it could get approved i wasn't onhold for about 20 second he came back and said congradulation it was approved. And gave me a passcode and to only ask for him.
I received a call from this number but from a Jack Tanner. He gave me the same story of being a federal crimes agent. Threatened me with taking me to court over a check payment to a check cashing agent that didn’t go through. Had the last four digits of my social and bank account. He also said that if we didn’t pay the $1,000 now, that we would get served with papers in 48 hours. No idea where he got the information. Is there someone to report it to? I reported the phone number to my phone carrier as a harassing/scam line and they were going to put it on their “watch list”.
I just received the same call from Officer Kevin Smith. These people get your information from any kind of on line pay day or installment loans that you might apply for. I'm sure they get the info from other areas as well, but I know mine came from applying for pay day loans on line. Just ignore the guy and keep hanging up. Or you can tell him that you have already called the authorities in your own city and state and that they are aware of his calls. That usually stops them from calling anymore. I don't know why more is not being done to protect people from this sort of stuff!! Some of us don't have any where else to turn to for financial help from time to time so pay day loans are all we can do! We should not be subjected to this kind of harassment!!
I got a call from Officer David...I call him Officer F#** Face! I was at work and Human Resource told me I had an "urgent" call to return. I have children and my HEART sank thinking the worst. He had threatened HR that if I didn't call back there would be a court order charge against me. He gave me an MI #, had my last 4 SS #'s, and said I had to pay $475 by 4pm. He didn't give me much other information so I had his phone number looked up - BIG SCAM! Thank goodness I didn't give him any other information but scared to death he already has my last 4 digits. My husband DID call him back and demanded his true name, the guy got instantly pissed, threaten to find us & hurt us.
Very uncomfortable, kinda scary, violated, bad day! Be careful of this crazy guy!!!
I was researching payday loans online. I came across this website www.uspaydayloancorp.com. I wanted to see what interest rates they were charging but you had to enter your phone number and zip code first. Once I did that, they started calling me within an hour and harrassing me stating that they were filing 3 counts of fraud with the federal courts and cussing at me. This is such a scam. I have reported their company, phone number and website to the local FBI office in my city. They said that these places were scams that try to get money from you to fund terrorism cells in other countries.
