I received a call at my job and the person asked for my information. I said you called here you give me my information as he said my information was correct. He stated an address that I lived at years ago and did take out a loan online but paid it off (TWICE because of people like him still saying I owed). I told him to send me the paperwork and I will look over it but I will not pay. I now have letters stating that I paid and he wanted me to send them to him but did not give a fax or anything. He told me to get a lawyer and I said ok and hung up. When this happened to me the second time I called the collection company that I paid and said hey I paid you why am I getting a call. I was informed that when a loan company wants to collect they give your information to many debt collectors to retrieve the money. so if you are not careful you could be paying this back numerous times so I said why don't they tell people. He said no one ever asked.
