Just got a call from this number asking for a Maria Gaitan which I ask who's calling they get persistent in asking if we are this person. Which were not but that we may know them , ask what's this in regards too, they get pushy and say we can't tell you personal. I think they have caller I'd cuz I tried to call back to see if it would give a name of agency or something and they answered with maria is this you. I played it off and said someone called me from this number what's this about . but it sounds fishy they ask for date of birth too
This number called me and "ashley" said she got a new number, then I call back and they say they are a collection company, going to put them on my block list! but tried to get my Credit Card information.
My Mother in law got a message from a guy named John asking for me to call him back on that number?
Not sure how he got her number since I have always had my own number since I known my wife and her parents, and if multiple people are calling from that number then it sounds like its a collection agency for sure.
Respectfully suggest that if the M-in-L gets any further calls for people that do not live at that number, that she simply say "I'm sorry you have the wrong number; there is no one here by that name" and hang up. She has no legal obligation to this company, and they have no legal rights regarding her. With all the collection scams going on today, while it makes it hard for legit collections to get done, one need NOT be part of anything that does not concern them, and this sounds like one of the fake collection scams.
I get many calls from this number asking for "Sophia" I have told them over and over that they have the wrong number and to remove my number off their list. I continued to get calls asking for "Sophia" And demanded to speak to the manager. Some lady by the name of "Veronica" gets on the phone and I explain (of course in an angry tone of voice) that I have inform them of the wrong number and she tells me she does not have to listen to me talk that way and hangs up. I call this time and ask to speak to the manager again and the same thing happens. So, I call again and the guys says stop calling, we are trying to run a business, but I tell tell "you don't like it like I don't likeso stop calling me". This has been going on since Monday, September 5,2011 overa month and a half!
This is a legit collection company but the employees or whoever handles their company are just completely RUDE idiots. I had to double check with the company that DID turn me over to them for a rental amount that I was waiting information on. So the company did confirm that they were SPEARS, DEWITT, and HALL and that they were the ones to try to collect that apartment rental balance. So they're legit but just very rude and unprofessional. UGH!
