Received a phone call today from a company called Office of Investigations Cochran & Associates and was informed that I had a payday loan from 2013 that was unpaid and that if I didn't voluntarily pay this debt today by 5:00pm that I would be prosecuted. They would contact my local police and have them issue a warrant and arrest me. She claimed that she wanted to help me and get this taken care out side of the courts. She informed me that I needed to pay the amount to a local FDIC approved location and then proceeded to give me the Money Gram information to proceed with payment. The information didn't sound correct so I contacted local DA office, local Police station for warrant information and bad chex systems to see if I had any of this debt against me and if I was truly being prosecuted. Honestly receiving this phone scared me a lot but it didn't make sense. She claimed that there were letters issued but yet we haven't received any. I'm glad I didn't pay it but still worried that this could happen to any body I know
