This happened to me today same scenerio male caller with heavy mexican accent claiming he had a relative and need $400.00 wired to a Tijuana Mexico address. Be careful when you call back they have caller id and they start calling that number. The man even said that if they didn't get the money they would kill the person. Police and Border Patrol were contatced and are handling the case in mean time I am calling Fox News in San Antonio, Texas and our local newspaper so they can do a story on these scammers. So that other people don't fall for this scam.
I received a call on 11/11/08 at 3:57 EST from 210-568-5796 (Texas are code). Caller called in Spanish asking, for me (with heavy Spanish Mexican accent), saying that an illegal alien was caught while trying to cross the border, and that the alleged illegal alien carried a business card with my name and phone number. There was a lot static during call, apparently call was made from a cellular phone, call was breaking off during the time of call. When I inquired, in English, who the caller was, the call was lost. I don’t have any relatives, friends or acquaintances legal or illegal in TX.

Same thing here. These clowns just called us at 1:30am EST on 11/23. Be careful because they are calling you late at night to catch you off guard and using your name to try and make it seem real. F-ck you scammers.
This spanish speaking man called asking what was the name of the coyote who was bringing my family member over I told him he had the wrong number it was 2am on 12/31/08 I had seen that number on my caller id at about 6am in nov.
